Xbox Live iOS App Released

The new Xbox Live iOS app is available for download now, Microsoft has announced.

It’s a free universal app that lets you manage you Xbox Live profile from your Apple gizmo. Features include:

Read and send messages to friends
Manage your friends list, invite new friends
Read and Edit your full LIVE profile (name, bio, motto)
Change your avatar features/items with the avatar closet
View and compare your achievement progress with friends

Also noted that the more fully-featured Xbox Companion for Windows Phone 7 is available now too.

All this activity ties in with the arrival last night of the new Xbox 360 dashboard, which brought with it a new interface, Bing search functionality and various Kinect features.

The new Xbox 360 dashboard launches on 6th December to all Xbox Live members, according to Kotaku.

The free update redesigns the Xbox 360 interface in the Metro style, bringing it in-line with Microsoft’s Windows and Windows Phone products.

It adds extra Kinect functionality, and cloud saving for Xbox Live Gold members. New apps are expected to launch, too, including BBC and Lovefilm.

You can use the Xbox 360 controller to flick between channels that display at the top of the screen, or you can use your voice and hands to navigate and search through motion-sensing add-on Kinect.

Under the Social channel you’ll find Beacons, which allow gamers to signpost what they’re doing across XBL and Facebook. Facebook posting is also added, which means you’ll be able to “like” a game, sending Achievements to the social network.

Battlefield 3 Sells 8 Million Copies

A unexpected 8 million copies of battlefield 3 have sold to date EA was hoping to sell 5 million copies so they’ve sold way over the expectations. Modern Warfare 3 is still the best selling shooter out there by selling 6.4 million copies in just 24 hours so lets just say battlefield 3 has there work cut out for them to get any where near MW3 sales.

The Sims 4 in the works

Its not official yet but The Sims 4 is in the works and is certainly happening and the domain thesims4.com was purchased over a year ago by EA. The Sims 3 has delayed this release because of its success but now you Sims fans have something to look forward too.
